Our newest edition!

Madelyn Jude Murphy was born at 1:32pm on September 12th, 2008. She is a healthy baby girl weighing 5lbs. 11 oz. and 19 1/2 inches long.

The induction went well. We arrived at the hospital at 7:30 am on Friday Sept. 12th. They didn't actually start the pitocin until 9:30am. I was pretty much in labor when we got to the hospital. My contractions were about 5 minutes apart and starting to hurt, so I am sure that I would have gone on my own in the next couple days, but it was a relief to be at the hospital knowing that I was going to have enough time to get an epidural this time around. All I wanted was an epidural. It probably slowed down my labor, but I didn't care, I just wanted to be comfortable. They broke my water at 12:30pm. My epidural started to wear off not long after. And of course things were progressing quickly and I kept asking where anesthesia was. As I'm trying to work through the contractions Aric picks up the Mayo scale of pain to show me. It has little faces on it from 0 (smiley face) to a 10 (very mad face that looks like it's swearing). So Aric says "Looks like you're an 8." Well I wasn't really in the mood, but I just couldn't help but laugh and so did my nurse who was holding my other hand. The nurse asked me if he was always like this and of course yes, he is. Always the comic relief. Finally anesthesia came in the room to bump up my epidural, but they were too late, I was already getting ready to deliver baby. They increased the dosage anyway, but it didn't hit my system fast enough. Oh well, it was nice not to have to feel the full affect, it was more of a "10" instead of a "100" like with Hannah, but the pain was brief, so I can't complain too much! I think it took about 5 to 10 minutes to deliver Madelyn, about 5 pushes. The delivery was by far my longest, but this was the nicest and smoothest delivery. Everything went really well, and she was delivered without any problems.

She's been a quiet baby so far. We'll see if it lasts. She is starting to take a pacifier. My other kids absolutely refused them, so it will be interesting to see if she likes it. Maybe I won't have to be the human pacifier this time around. My recovery seems so much better this time I think because my delivery went so smoothly, so I feel great. I am glad because I still have my two other kids to entertain.

Aric's parents were here to watch the kids while we were at the hospital and they have been so distracted and having a good time they weren't too sad that we were gone. They came to see us in the hospital a few hours after I delivered. The kids were adorable and were so sweet with their little sister.

We only stayed one night in the hospital because we did not get a private room. We stayed in the same room, in the same bed, and had the same nurse as the last time when I delivered Hannah. I whispered to Aric that this is a bad omen when we saw where we were going. They couldn't even wheel me in the room there were people standing in the doorway annoyed that I was being wheeled in. No one made any effort to quiet down when we got there. We always get the nicest, most considerate roomates. Even when the guests left the gal in the other bed would talk so loud on the phone. She did not keep her baby in the room with her, so she had no reason to be quiet.

We stayed the minimum 24 hours and left as soon as we could. So much for a relaxing hospital stay. It was nice to be home. My father in law welcomed us home by grilling us steaks and twice baked potatoes. I ate like a pig and it was sooo good.

We are doing great now. My mother in law is going to be staying for the week and then my mom comes after she leaves. So I get to take it easy while I transition to taking care of three kids!

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers during this pregnancy. It was not the funnest pregnancy, but it all ended up being okay, and so far we're doing great.

Aric and I before the delivery and my epidural. I was actually having a contraction as I took the picture while trying to look happy.

Me after I got my epidural. I am relieved!

Me, Aric, and Madelyn right after delivery

Brecklen and Madelyn. Breck has been so awesome with his little sister. He is so protective of her.

All three of our kids in the hospital. Hannah was actually petting her head, not knocking on it.

Baby Shower

A good friend of mine, Lydia, threw a baby shower for me last weekend and I figured I better get these pictures posted before I get induced tomorrow. I am so glad that most of my good friends were able to come. We had such a good time talking all night long. I think most of us left about 11pm, the time just flew by. Thanks Lydia and friends for a great night of fun! Thanks everyone for all the cute baby girl gifts, they were all so adorable.

Me, Lydia, and Ann

Me and Ann

We played a game to guess who's baby picture it was. It was so cute to see everyone as babies. I wasn't very good at guessing. Good job Jen and Janee for getting them all correct. I'm impressed!

Nicky, Janee, Jen, and Mary

Me, Lisa, Jen, LaNae,Janee, Stacy, and Lydia.

We took this picture before the last of us left. Thanks ladies. I couldn't get to sleep forever that night because I kept laughing at all the funny things we talked about! What a fun night.

I thought I would also give a big thanks to Stacy (in green above) who also threw me a baby shower a little while ago. I forgot to take pictures, we were having so much fun. Stacy's husband is a 6th year resident and will be leaving us in June :( It's been a nice "tradition" , atleast since I've been here, for the Oral surgery wives to throw a baby shower for the mom-to-be. It was a really nice time with some amazing food and great fun . Thanks Stacy and gals!

100 things about me

I had a few friends who did it literally months ago, which is when I started it, but put it to the side to finish later. I hope you enjoy reading it, or atleast some of it. If you have a blog and haven't done a 100's list, I would love to read one from you.

1. I was born on April 12, 1979 in Santa Maria, California. I was born in a Janitors closet because the delivery rooms were full at the hospital. My dad missed my delivery because my mom sent him home thinking she wasn't quite ready yet to deliver. I was always such a daddy's girl growing up. My mom would always joke about it saying it's because he felt guilty missing my birth.

2. I have six siblings. 2 older sisters and 4 brothers- Kristine and Keri, Jeff, Jamie, Bruce, and Craig. I am number 6, 2nd to last child.

3. When I was 3 months old we moved to Escondido, CA, a suburb of San Diego where I lived until I graduated High School. We moved around to many different houses growing up, but we mainly resided in Escondido.

4. The summer after 3rd grade we moved to La Jolla not far from Escondido, where we lived by the beach. Some of my fondest memories are walking to the store a couple of blocks away with Bruce and Craig where we would buy grasshopper(mint) oreo cookies, just because we thought the name was funny. I think that's where my love for mint originated. My brothers and I would also walk to the beach which was a block away and spend the day there. That was such a blissful time. I miss the beach.

5. My first (I think my only) brush with death was at the beach that summer. I was caught in a rip current and could not swim back to shore. I was being swept out to sea. Just when I couldn't tread water any longer I noticed a life guard running in the water, I hoped she was coming for me, because if not, my short life was over. It seemed to take a million years for her to get to me, but she did and pulled me to shore. Thank goodness for life guards!

6. Second scariest moment of my childhood- being lost in a huge resort ski resort in Lake Tahoe. I don't know how but I lost my family on the way to eat lunch. I was probably about 8 or 9 at the time. I found a public restroom and got down on my knees (eww) in a stall and again never prayed so hard. When I regained my senses, I walked out of the bathroom and found my family standing not far away, freaking out. Now that I write this it doesn't sound so scary, but I'll probably always remember it because it was the first experience knowing that God is there and really listens to us. It was quite a testimony builder.

7. When I was 2 or 3 I broke both my collarbones.

8.I gave myself a blackeye during a high school field hockey game. No I didn't hit myself. The ball landed just right on my hockey stick, bounced up and struck me in the eye.

9.I also gave myself a black eye surfing in Hawaii. The water was shallow so I was trying to get off my board and when the board popped out off the water it struck me in the eye. My brother was getting married, so all of the pictures of me at my brother's wedding look funny. I felt bad for Aric, we had only been married 6 months, and he got alot of funny looks!

10.I have spiked myself so many times during track I can't recall, but my most memorable was when I was poll vaulting during college and somehow with my spiked shoe took out my earring stud and scratched my ear.

11. One of our favorite houses growing up we used to run wild. We lived next to a graveyard and would hop the 6 foot fence to go play in the graveyard. It was creepy, I don't even remember what we did there except run around. I think I was about kindergarten age. You could hear the coyote howling in the background all the time. My mom hated that we would go there and probably didn't know it most of the time. On the other side of the street from our house we used to play in this huge empty field, that is sadly a huge subdivision now, but we used to run around there too. Our favorite place to visit was a well that we used to throw stuff in. Our goal to to find the bottom. We used to get long pieces of rope and stick it down there. We never did find the bottom...

12. At this same house my much older brothers liked to tie me and my younger brother Craig together, put us in a wheelbarrow and push us down the hill. We had a huge yard and the hill was about 100 feet or more. We would always end up smashing into the fence at the bottom. Good times Craig. It is a wonder that we both survived past 6 with our brothers experiments.

13. My parents divorced when I was in about 5th grade.

14. Within a couple years my dad remarried a woman name Caroline who was a much younger woman. At first I adored her because she looked like Mariah Carey when she was still sweet and would sing gospel-like music. My younger brother, Craig and I would go visit my dad and her on the weekends. She LOVED horror movies, the evil satanic ones. She would freak us out the next day by asking if we had heard any strange noises the night before. I hate evil scary movies to this day.

15. I love all other movies, even suspense. One of Aric's and my favorite things to do is watch movies after the kids are asleep. Our favorite movie is Braveheart. It is alittle Bloody, but it is such a passionate movie with a purpose. I think powerful movies are my favorite, but I love comedies too. I love a good laugh.

16. Aric can make me laugh so easily. He actually does silly things all the time to make me laugh. He's so goofy, I love it. He thinks it's great he can still make me laugh after knowing me for a decade. I hope he never stops trying.

17. In high School I probably gave my mom many gray hairs, but she always told all of us that our punishment would be to have a child just like us. I hope Hannah proves her wrong.

18. My sophmore year of high school I snuck out of the house a couple of times. The last time I did I got caught by my mom.

19. I have run across a California Freeway. That was the night my mom found out I snuck out of the house. My friend's parents called her. I don't think I told her I ever did this. Now you know (if you would ever read my blog!!).

20. I didn't get my driver's licence until I was almost 17. My first car was a shiny bright gold Oldsmobile. It had been through my three older brothers and was a real piece of work. My friends and I called it the "Babe mobile." For some reason we always attracted the attention of guys. You really couldn't miss this car, it had quite the "wow factor." You could see it from a mile away. Many great times in that car with my girlfriends.

21. I had saturday school in high school only once for ditching class. It was actually for an emergency, but my mom didn't believe me. I stick to my word!

22. My older brother Jeff would call in pretending to be my dad, and bail me out of high school so we could go rock climbing, and we never got caught. So I guess maybe I deserved that day of saturday school afterall.

23. Some of my best times appreciating nature were on the side of a rock wall. Thanks Jeff for taking the time to teach me to climb. One of my favorite times was our three pitch climb in the California Redwoods watching the sun start to set hundreds of feet up in the air, way over the tops of the redwoods. That was an amazing sight.

24. I LOVE being outdoors. My favorite activities are hiking and rock climbing, biking, fishing, camping, skiing of all kinds, and pretty much all sports.

25. I suck at what I call "indoor hobbies"- I can't sew or draw, I don't scrapbook, and don't play any musical instrument. So I am pretty much useless at a ward talent show, which is ok with me.

26. I still have the same journal since childhood. I have only written in about 10 pages.

27. I have learned to enjoy some indoor hobbies recently thanks to my friends who got me hooked on blogging. Now I don't feel guilty about not having a scrapbook for each child.

28. I never thought I would enjoy reading so much. Twilight has really opened my eyes that reading could actually be fun.

29. I have always steered clear from mormon films, which to me had lame written all over them. I watched "The Singles Ward" only because Aric watched it because someone said he HAD to watch it. I never laughed so hard. Well, maybe I have, but it was funny.

30. During my senior year in high school I took off with some friends (with out telling my mom)to go to Las Vegas for the weekend and had a blast. Later on that year we went to Mexico. I would kill my daughter if she did that. Sorry mom, now I feel bad. I still had fun though.

31. I have been asked to strip in a nightclub in Tijuana. Tempting offer, but just had to turn that one down.

32. Even though High School was full of fun memories, I would never do it again if I was paid.

33. I first found my love for track and field in High school and tried all sorts of events such as sprinting, hurdling, long jump, high jump, and the Heptathlon. I finally found something I was good at and my parents were great to encourage me.

34. Summer after my sophomore year of HS I was able to take the opportunity to be on a USA Track and field team and traveled over to Australia to compete. I was able to compete in the stadium where the Sydney, Australia summer Olympics took place (before the Olympics happened in 2000). It was truly amazing to stand in an Olympic stadium. I think that's when I decided to go for the gold! I wanted to be an Olympian. Well, so much for that!

35. In High School I competed around the country in various track events. That was a highlight in my life. It was fun to travel and do something I loved.

36. My sophomore and Junior year in HS I competed in the Heptathlon for all of San Diego County and won both times.

37. I went to Kansas State University where I continued my track career. I competed for one year and then decided to focus on school work. Practicing so much kind of took the fun out of it and having a great boyfriend (Aric) was so distracting!

38. Aric and I met my second semester in school in a parking lot. My friend thought she knew Aric and his friend John, so I stopped to pick up on some cute guys. I had a silver mustang at the time and Aric looks into my car and says " Nice car" with a big grin on his face. He invited us up to his friend's dorm room b/c they were having a party in my building (it was co-ed). We ended up talking until the wee hours of the night and pretty much it was love at first sight. I even called him the next day. Major faux pas. But I didn't care.

39. Aric and I were pretty much inseparable after we met. I almost flunked out that semester, and received a letter that I better step it up, or I was out of there! So I made some changes and quit track so I actually had time to study.

40.A little while after we met he asked me why I had such a nice car, he thought mormons didn't drive cars. I chuckled and told him that I think that was the Amish. That started the beginning of Aric looking into the church. When I went home for the summer little did I know that Aric started taking the discussions and 6 months later he was baptized.

41. Some of our families best vacations, and craziest things have happened at Lake Powell. My dad rents 2 huge houseboats for our family(and all extended family that decides to come along). It is always a fun and interesting time. The summer after Aric and I met I convinced him he needed to come and visit my family. 2 weeks stuck in an enclosed space with my girlfriends family, why not? I can't believe he came. Poor guy! We had only been dating for about 3 months, but had become pretty serious. I wanted my family to meet him and see how awesome he was and why I was going back to the same college I complained about for a year (more on that to follow).

42. I hated Kansas State when I started my freshman year. I didn't like it one bit until I met Aric. I was planning on transfering my sophomore year to go to college in Hawaii. My family's plan was to get a house on the beach. I had three siblings who lived out there and I was suppossed to live with my 2 older brothers. I pretty much ruined the house on the beach plan to stay in school at Kansas State for a boyfriend they thought I hardly knew. Thanks to my older sisters who were already married, they gave me the courage to stand up to my dad and tell him I was going to stay in Kansas. That was probably one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. But that decision changed my life forever. I am glad I did it.

43. Aric once bit off the skin off the ball of my foot. I sliced my foot open on a rock at lake Powell. The skin was larger than a silver dollar and was just hanging off my foot. I couldn't take it off, it hurt too bad, so he used his teeth to rip it off. We were still dating then (still meet the parents visit). He really must have loved me.

44. Aric was baptized into the Mormon church in Dec. 1998. His mom and grandmother were there to support him. I am glad they came. His family wasn't sure at first about this whole mormon thing, but they were supportive and happy for him.

45. September 1999 we got engaged. I remember driving back from a good friend's wedding out of town when Aric kept slipping the ring on and off my finger all the way back home. I wasn't sure if it was "the" ring, so I didn't say anything. We had talked alot about getting engaged, it was just a matter of when and where. When we got back to my apartment he got down on one knee and propossed. That was such a happy moment! Later that night we had dinner with Aric's parents and some good friends of ours. That was a great day.

46. We were married 1 year and 10 days after Aric was baptized. We got to go to the temple for the first time together a few days before we got married.

47. We got married on December 29, 1999 in the San Diego Temple on a beautiful clear sunny day. That was the happiest day of my life. It couldn't have been a more perfect day.

48. We had a wonderful reception at this beautiful country club in San Diego. I left a majority of the planning up to my mom, and she and my sister who lived in San Diego did an awesome job. Thanks guys. I'm so glad I didn't have to participate too much in the planning (except choose the food menu), I just got to ok it.

49. The reception was a little overwhelming though. There was so many people! We stood in line for two hours greeting people until finally I had had enough. My back killed for the next week. I am really shy and it was so hard being the center of attention. I was bummed we didn't get to eat any of the yummy food that Aric and I picked out.

50. At the reception my dad announced that we would be spending the next 10 days in Morroco. We looked over the itinerary of our trip that evening, and it was for a group tour where we would be traveling on a bus with a bunch of total strangers. We had to have our bags packed and on the curb by 6am everyday. And the weather would be cold. We were a little surprised that my dad would pick Morroco (he had lived there for a time while growing up, so not too random). He had asked us where we wanted to go, and as I recall, they were all warm areas. We thought it would be cool to go to Morroco, so that was great, but spending every minute on your honeymoon with strangers... not so great.

51. The day after we got married our families picked us up at our hotel and drove us to the airport. He was about to check us in when he started laughing and said we weren't going to Morrocco, we are going to be spending 10 glorious days in Tahiti. We were ecstatic because of where we were going, and that we wouldn't have to spend our honeymoon on a tour bus with a bunch of strangers the whole time.

52. We celebrated the big 2000 new years eve eating an amazing seafood buffet on the beach that night with tons of fireworks and a big Luau.

53. We spent the next couple days in our romantic private bungalow in the bathroom. We both got horrible food poisoning from the buffet. Not a fun way to start our honeymoon. We didn't get to see much of the big island of Tahiti unfortunately. I am so glad that Aric and I had known each other for so long (almost 2 years) or else that could have been a pretty awkward situation, even if he was my husband!

54. We got to do some island hopping. Our favorite island was Bora Bora. We stayed in another bungalow over the ocean with a private deck where you can just jump into the warm water. There were dolphins that swam close to our bungalow and the snorkeling was amazing. My favorite was taking a scooter out for the day and traveling all around the island to explore. It was tiny and only took half a day. Someday, it would be fun to go back and vacation again. It was such an amazing honeymoon, we couldn't have been more spoiled. Thanks dad for the most unforgettable trip.

55. When I started college I was a biology major. I was going to be an anesthesiologist. Well that didn't last long, I think I got a D in biology so I switched to archeology. I loved archeology, but really, what can you do with that? So then I switched to Psychology the begining of my junior year. I graduated with a Psychology degree. At least it's slightly more useful than archeology, but not much. I had plans to continue on to get a masters degree, but didn't know if it would happen. We already knew Aric would continue on to Medical or dental school. I guess we just decided to make it really exciting and do both :)

56. I think it's funny that my mom thought I would drop out of college and start the baby factory. We never even considered that. We were having way too much fun! We were newlyweds for four years before Brecklen came. We were so in love and were always joined at the hip. I miss those days carefree days sometimes.

57. I think College was definitely the funnest time in my life, especially after meeting Aric. We just enjoyed each other so much and had fun being young before all the responsibilities of parenthood. We used to go running or hiking at night in this area that was a nature preserve. The rolling hills were so beautiful under the full moon, and it was so peaceful and we would just nonstop talk about everything. Or our other favorite thing was to BBQ at a local lake with friends. By the time we graduated college in Kansas, I really loved it there. But not enough to live there permanently! Sorry Murphys.

58. After college we moved to Indianapolis, Indiana for Aric to attend 4 years of Dental School. There are some really nice parts of Indianapolis, and some not so nice parts. We lived in the not so nice parts. Our first year there we lived about a mile from the Speedway (I think we were the only white people in the neighborhood), which is home to the Nascar Indy 500. We could hear the race cars very loudly from our apartment . They really love Nascar there. Aric was mistaken often for Jeff Gordon, especially when he was wearing a hat. It was actually quite funny. People would go on and on about it. That whole city was obsessed with Jeff Gordan.

59. Then we moved to another part of the city, which was pretty much a "white ghetto" area. I have never seen so many mullets in my life. It was especially sad to see the children with one. They don't even have a chance. I remember driving by a house with a whole deer freshly hunted laying on the front yard waiting to be skined and beheaded. It was a really classy area.

60. In Indianapolis we witnessed a shoot out targeting an apartment across from us with dozens of police cars. It ended up being a drug bust, but the guy didn't want to come out of his house. That was terrifying watching the police stand on our doorway (with guns) trying to get this guy to come out in the middle of the night.

61. Brecklen was born at the begining of Aric's third year in dental school. He gave us quite a scare when I went into preterm labor at 34 weeks, I was on bed rest the remainder of my pregnancy. Thankfully the doctors were able to hold off delivery until 38 weeks. I ended up being induced to prevent any problems. He was "growth restricted", or small for date. The birth was a little scary. His heart rate decreased dramatically and before I know it they are throwing an oxygen mask on me and telling me to decide between c-section and forceps now. We chose the forceps and in 2 pushes, with the aid of the forceps, Brecklen Hill Murphy was born into this world on August 14th, 2003. That was one of the happiest times of my life. He was so small and so cute. My vision was all blurred so I didn't realize that he had meconium all over himself and now on me. Good thing I didn't know it, or else I would have grossed out, but instead I just held him. We were so excited to be parents and Aric changed his first diaper ever in the hospital, actually he changed all the diapers while we were in the hospital.

62. I was a little scared to leave the hospital. Why would they let me take Brecklen home? I knew nothing about babies. So my adventure of motherhood began. What a ride it has been. All of the joys of watching my kids first smiles, learning to sit, watching them take their first step, and walking. Watching them play together, love, hug, and kiss each other. I wouldn't trade it for the world.

63. Finally Dental School came to an end in May 2005. Aric graduated 1st in his class of 100 students and received about 10 awards. I was so proud of him. All of that hard work, thousands of hours studying, so much dedication he put in. He deserved it! He hates it when I talk about it, he is the most humble person. I know it has nothing to do with me, but it was a big day in my life to see him graduate 1st in his class.

64. Our Saturday "date night" during dental school B.C. (before children) was me sneeking Papa Johns breadsticks and sometimes a pizza into the school library after hours so we could spend an hour together on the weekends. We always had such a blast talking while trying to not get caught and kicked out because we weren't suppossed to be there.

65. After Dental school we moved to Rochester, Minnesota where Aric started his Oral and Maxillofacial surgery program. I'm not sure what we were thinking, but we decided to have a baby during his intern year. That was the craziest year of our lives. Poor Brecklen would go a week without seeing his dad. I'm not sure how Aric survived on such little sleep for an entire year.

66. Hannah Nicole was born on April 5, 2006. She was a tiny thing (5 lbs 12 oz) and came very quickly. I was in labor for only 1 1/2 hours. I remember trying to tell Aric to hurry up and drive faster, I was in serious pain and it was the middle of the night. I may have used many colorful words in the process. He was afraid of going too fast on the highway. Funny enough there really was a cop in the next lane. Of course that would be our luck, since we see about 2 cops a year. If we were pulled over I would have probably had Hannah in the car. We got to the hospital 20 minutes before I gave birth, Aric almost missed it. The doctor almost missed it! The doctor ran into the room just in the nick of time to catch the baby. I just remember saying "baby is comimg, baby is coming" and screaming like I've never screamed before and one push she was out! It was a horrible delivery in that the pain was way too intense. Dilating from a 5 to a 10 cm in 20 min. is way too much for the body to handle without any kind of anesthetic.

67. I had never spent more than a couple of hours away from Brecklen before giving birth. I was so worried about him. He did fine, and the moment I saw him hold Hannah I swear he grew up before my eyes. He was a big brother, and looked so big compared to Hannah.

68. I love it when my kids hug each other or look at each other with love. It just melts my heart. I think they are both ready to have a new little sister. They like looking at little babies and get excited to know they are going to have a baby sister soon.

69. I used to play the piano when I was a kid, but gave it up. That wasn't my thing. I'd rather be kicking a ball or running around. I am not a musical person.

70. I was such a tomboy growing up. I think I spent most of my chidhood living outdoors running around.

71. I did take tap and ballet for a year and that was fun. I wish I had done more ballet. I guess I was a little girly at heart.

72. I always wanted to do gymnastics, but never did. I am sure being the 6th child had something to do with it. I can't imagine how much time my mom spent running around in the car picking up kids and dropping them off.

73. My first boyfriend was in 8th grade. He had a rat tail that I wasn't too fond of. I can't believe I liked a boy with a rat tail. If your not familiar with the term, here's an example:

So Sexy, who wouldn't love that?!!! (No this is not a picture of my boyfriend).

74. My first kiss was with Rich Groenke the start of our sophomore year in High School. It was in the hall after school. I remember being so nervous. My best friend at the time couldn't believe I had NEVER kissed a boy. Rich and I were on-again, off again for 3 months. It was a rocky High school relationship full of lots of drama. He told me he loved me and gave me a gold braclet from Peircing Pagoda that said "I love you" all the way around. I gave it back to him when I dumped him a little while later. How many times can you really break up and get together in three months? So lame. It makes me laugh now. We stayed friends, but it just wasn't meant to be.

75. I am a yellow belt in Tae kwon do. Aric and I took karate classes from a good friend during college. It was so much fun. I would love to continue on some day, since I really didn't get very far.

76. I am terrified of spiders, or really any living thing in my house. It will automatically be given the death sentence. Hopefully Aric's around when I find a spider that I think is too big, or too scary to squash. I am in the process of training Brecklen to be my spider killer.

77. I have an irrational fear that one day I am going to drive away from the gas station with the gas pump still stuck in my car. I always double check before I drive away. I had a dream (or nightmare) when I was learning how to drive that I didn't take the pump out of the car and drove away with it still in the tank and it ripped out the hose spraying massive amounts of gas everywhere, and I basically had to fork over $10,000 to fix the mess. I guess it really freaked me out.

78. When Aric and I were first married my lovely stepmom confronted me at lake Powell on a houseboat and said she "has been grinding her axe against me for a year and has spent $10, 000 in therapy." I almost laughed except I wasn't sure if she really had a axe or not. Then I felt sorry for her for wasting all that money on therapy. She never said why, but for some reason she's always been competative with me, and I don't play along. Anyway she then went on to say she made a VooDoo doll in which she would inflict all sorts of horrid things on it. Umm, ok. I really think it's funny, and Aric and I laugh about it all the time. It makes for a good story.

79. During high school I started to run at night for relaxation. It was the most peaceful time to just get lost in your thoughts and look at the stars, or nothing at all. It's funny that when I met Aric he would do the same thing, so we started to run at night together. Those are some of my fondest memories in Kansas.

80. My first job was at Au Bon Pain, a gourmet sandwich and coffee shop in the mall. I think I worked there about 3 or 4 months. I usually did sports all the way through high school, but I was injured at the time and all my friends worked there. It was the worst job. Our boss was this anal wench who would get on us about everything. I accidently put a poinsetta plant on the bagel toaster to clean the counter (why was there a poinsetta on the counter in the first place?) and forgot to put it back and she harrassed me until I cried, so I finally quit.

81. After I stopped doing track in college and Aric and I got married then I started to explore my options with Psychology. I worked in a women's group home for serious mental illnesses. That was an exciting job! I got to drive a a small bus, no joke. I hated driving it in the scary Kansas winters. I have never seen a place with so little snow, but so much ice. I had a women almost attack me with a knife (they aren't allowed to have them and I was asking for it back, she didn't like that). Tthat same woman with the knife knew I was then forever freaked out after that and would jump out at me all the time to scare me (of course I pretended not to be freaked out). She was crazy. Another woman had major delusions while I was there (she was schizophrenic), another wanted to commit suicide. That was fun to deal with. But overall I really liked working there, but it was way too emotional for me to deal with. These ladies had serious problems. That was when I started to wonder whether I really wanted to be a therapist or not. I don't think I would be strong enough to leave work at work and not worry about patients at home.

83. When Aric started dental school in Indianapolis I worked full time as my first "real job" after graduating college doing research on Alcoholism at Indiana University. I would go to rehab centers and 12 step AA meetings to recruit alcoholics and then their families. I was always pleasently surprised how the recovering alcoholics really left it up to God to help them in their recovery. Often times they were very spiritual and honest about things I don't know if I could tell another person. I am also amazed at how much a person can drink and not kill themselves! I really got to meet alot of really neat people though just trying to do their best in life and it really opened my eyes to not judge others. I really have a hard time when people ignorantly judge others and things they don't know much about. I have learned and seen alot through my experiences working with those that have mental issues and alcoholism (and a whole slew of other issues) and sometimes people have sad lives and are just doing their best with what they know. It also makes me so thankful for what I have. I will get off my soap box now.

84. Part of this job on researching alcoholism involved drawing blood, which I got to learn how to do. It is not an easy thing, I enjoyed doing it, but it wasn't my favorite part.

85. I worked on this study for about a year. My boss was a little psycho and I swear she bugged our office. Her husband was a police officer and she knew way too much info. Things she couldn't have know about otherwise. I worked with another lady in thew same office and we would always joke about how we were going to write a book about this job and how crazy our boss was. I have repressed most of those memories, but we were treated like children. Needless to say we both quit after a year, it just wasn't worth it.

86. I love playing Sudoku. If you don't know what it is, it's like a word puzzle, but with numbers using logic.

87. I am really shy. Since childhood I have always been painfully shy. I am starting to break out of my shell. I think being a mom changes things, you have to be social.

88. I'm running out of stuff to say. I am left handed.

89. I have never been to Canada. Hopefully we will go before we leave Minnesota. I would also like to go to Europe and South America sometime.

90. I have always wanted to go for a ride on a hot air balloon, bungie jump, and skydiving. I don't know if I'll ever have the guts to go skydiving now that I'm a mom, but it would be fun.

91. I almost went to Mount Everest. Before I had kids my brotherJeff, the one I used to rock climb with, was doing research at Mount Everest Base camp. I was going to go with him along with some of my family, but of course, leave it to the rebels to start war with Napalese goverment and start killing Americans. Darn rebels! I was really bummed not to go. We had to call off our trip only a couple weeks beforehand. By the time my brother went back the next year, I was very pregnant and therefore not able to go. I'll probably never have another reason to climb Mount Everest, but it's probably for the best. I'm still here.

92. I have never been in a fight. A Physical fight anyway. Although I just about started a fight last month at the Mall of America with another mom who grabbed my son because she had mistaken him for another boy cutting in line wearing the same colored shirt. I couldn't believe someone would actually grab a child who wasn't theirs and yank them by the shirtthe way she did. I just stood there staring at her with my mouth open. Boy did my mothering instinct kick in and I wanted to kick the crap out of her. I even tried to tell her she has the wrong kid, but she didn't care, she was just mad her precious 8 year old had to wait in line for a ride. Boo hoo, she's old enough to wait her dang turn. I wanted to tell her to step out of line so we can take it outside, but she could have just sat on me and would have crushed me. She really wasn't worth my time.

93. I always thought practical gifts would be lame from my husband. The sewing machine didn't pan out so well, I think I've used it twice. But while the kids and I were gone at the Mall of America almost getting into fights with cranky moms he bought me a new dishwasher, and had it installed by the time I got home! That really is one of the sweetest things he could ever do. He didn't even think I would notice.

94. I love watching Kansas State Football! I am a crazed football fan. The day we got married KSU was playing in the Rose bowl in San Diego, where we got married. We tried to think of every way we could show up at the game between getting married and our reception. We couldn't make it happen, so we watched it on tv before our ring ceremony and reception. Go Wildcats!

95. I used to have a belly button ring. I got it with my friend Christina after we graduated High school. I thought I was so cool at the time. I took it out permanently before I got married. You can still see the holes from it, and it looks really funny now that I'm pregnant and have an outie belly button.

96. I always carry water with me. I feel lost if I leave the house and don't have water. My kids are lost if they don't have a snack. "what NO snack?!" they say. They act like they will die when they just ate 1 hour ago.

97. I love to eat food. I hate to cook every night for dinner. Although it's the best feeling when I make an awesome meal and everyone loves it. But eating out at a great restaurant with my husband and having an amazing meal is one of my favorite things to do. Hopefully we will be able to do it more once we are more "established" in life.

98. I am a night owl. I usually don't go to bed until midnight or 1 am. I love talking with my hubbie, watching a movie, or cleaning my house if I'm in the mood. Sometimes when Aric is working overnight in the hospital I will clean my house. It usually starts with straighting up, then develops into mopping the floor and cleaning the tub. I end up doing all the things that I never get to do while the kids are awake. It's like I'm "in the zone"and I always think, just one more thing, and then before I know it it's 2 am! It has apparently replaced my night running since I don't know when I did that last.

99. My favorite time of day is in the morning (hopefully not too early) when my kids come wake me up and we just snuggle in bed any enjoy each other before the day begins. I think I will miss that the most when all my kids are grown and don't want to snuggle anymore. Sad. But I will have new adventures to look forward to.

100. My other favorite time is satuday mornings when Aric is home. We are so lazy. We all just sit around in our pj's until late morning and eat pancakes and sausage for breakfast. So Yummy!

That's all folks!
